How I Got Here — Doing What I Love While Making a Difference

I’m Schevon “Schevy” Pierre, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I provide compassionate, holistic mental health care for adults and seniors that addresses their psychosocial, psychological, and emotional needs.

I have been in the healthcare field for over 14 years, with a background in both cardiology and psychiatry. I started my career working with clients living with mental health disorders, moved into cardiology, and eventually found my way back to psychiatry, where I belong. Along the way I have worked with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including memory disorders, depressive and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and ADHD, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

I love being a PMHNP because I get to do what I love while making a difference in the lives of others. I get to work with clients to determine a course of action that addresses their needs, and then help them realize those goals.

How We’ll Work Together

I fully believe that there is a solution for every difficult situation we may face. It just takes work to find it sometimes, and finding solutions is my passion.

When we work together, I take the time to understand not just your symptoms, but your life: what you are carrying, what is working, and what needs to change. Thoughtful medication management is most effective when it is part of a bigger picture, so I collaborate with therapists here at CMCS and elsewhere, and coordinate with your other providers when that helps your care hold together.

My approach is practical, warm, and judgment-free. Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, a sleep problem that will not budge, or the memory changes that come with aging, we will figure out the next right step together. My friends will tell you my most frequent phrase is “No worries,” and I bring that same steady outlook into every session.

I was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, a twin-island Republic in the Caribbean that is world-renowned for its multicultural heritage, Carnival, its music, and its varied cuisine. When I’m not at work, I can often be found fishing, gardening, cooking, or reading a book.

My friends will tell you that my most frequent phrase is “No worries.” It is part of my personal outlook, because I fully believe there is a solution for every difficult situation we may face. It just takes work to find it sometimes, and finding solutions is my passion.
