If you have ever felt like your mental health care was fragmented — a therapist who does not know what your prescriber is doing, or a prescriber who has never spoken to your therapist — you are not alone. That experience is frustratingly common. It is exactly why Centered Mind Counseling Services (CMCS) offers therapy and psychiatry Sammamish and Issaquah families rely on — care that is coordinated, connected, and built around you.
At CMCS, we bring therapy and psychiatry together under one roof in Sammamish and Issaquah, WA — so your providers work as a coordinated team, not as separate practitioners who happen to share a zip code. Whether you need therapy, medication management, or both, your care is built around you as a whole person.
It is why so many clients tell us that being here feels different from anywhere they have been before.
Therapy and Psychiatry in Sammamish & Issaquah — Comprehensive Mental Health Care at CMCS
What Is Integrated Mental Health Care?
At Centered Mind Counseling Services, offering therapy and psychiatry Sammamish and Issaquah families rely on means something specific — your therapy and your psychiatric care are not happening in separate silos. They are happening as part of one coordinated plan, where your providers communicate with each other, share relevant clinical insights, and adjust your treatment together as your needs evolve.
At most practices, this simply does not happen. A therapist refers a client to a psychiatrist across town, who prescribes medication without ever speaking to the therapist. The client is left to manage the coordination themselves — repeating their story, navigating conflicting advice, and hoping everything works together.
At Centered Mind Counseling Services, our comprehensive team includes associate licensed providers, licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists — all working under one roof and communicating directly with one another about your care. Your clinical history travels with you within CMCS, so your providers are working from a shared understanding of who you are — not starting from scratch every time.

Therapy and Psychiatry Sammamish & Issaquah — How It Works at CMCS
Most people seeking mental health care end up piecing together their own treatment team — a therapist in one office, a prescriber in another, often with no communication between them. The result is fragmented care where the client becomes the messenger between their own providers. At Centered Mind Counseling Services, building a practice where therapy and psychiatry work together has been a deliberate commitment — and the way our team communicates and collaborates is a reflection of that every day.
Here is what that looks like for you in practice:
You start with therapy. If your therapist believes medication might support your progress, they can connect directly with one of our psychiatric providers — no outside referrals, no starting over with a new practice, no gaps in communication between your providers.
You start with medication management. If your psychiatric provider feels therapy would deepen your treatment, our counselors and therapists are right here. Your prescriber and your therapist work as a team from day one.
You start with both. Many clients benefit most from therapy and medication management working together from the beginning — especially for conditions like depression, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, and trauma. At CMCS, starting with both is a seamless process, not a complicated one.
You already have a therapist outside CMCS. No problem. Our psychiatric providers work collaboratively with outside therapists too — because what matters most is your care, not where every part of it comes from.
You are not sure what you need. That is completely okay. Reach out to us for a free 10-minute consultation and we will help you figure out the right starting point together.

A Different Approach to Therapy and Psychiatry in Sammamish & Issaquah
Mental health care works best when it is personal, consistent, and connected. Yet for too many people, the reality is exactly the opposite — a patchwork of providers who do not communicate, treatment plans that do not align, and a client left to be the go-between for their own care team.
At Centered Mind Counseling Services, we built our practice around a different belief: that you deserve a team that is actually working together on your behalf — not just parallel providers who happen to accept the same insurance — but a real team that communicates, makes decisions together, and adapts as your needs evolve.

Frequently Asked Questions About Integrated Mental Health Care
What is the difference between a therapist and a psychiatric provider?
Therapists — including licensed counselors, psychologists, and social workers — provide talk therapy, skill-building, and emotional support. They help you understand patterns, process experiences, and develop coping strategies. Psychiatric providers — including psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners — are medically trained clinicians who can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe and manage medication, and provide psychiatric evaluations. Many people benefit from working with both. At CMCS, both types of providers are on the same team and communicate directly with one another. You can learn more about the range of mental health treatment options through the National Institute of Mental Health.
Do you accept insurance?
Please contact us directly for the most current information about accepted insurance plans, as this can vary by provider and changes over time. We are happy to help you understand your options before your first appointment.
Do I have to see both a therapist and a psychiatric provider at CMCS?
Not at all. Many of our clients see only a therapist, and many see only a psychiatric provider. Integrated care simply means that if you ever want to add the other component, or if your provider recommends it, that option is already available within the same practice — with communication built in from the start.
Will my therapist and my psychiatric provider share information about me?
Because all CMCS providers are part of the same practice, our team can share relevant clinical information for treatment purposes — which is what makes truly coordinated care possible. You will not need to sign a separate release for providers within CMCS to communicate about your care. If you ever have questions about how your information is handled, our team is always happy to walk you through it. For coordination with providers outside of CMCS, your permission is required.
I already have a therapist outside of CMCS. Can I still see a psychiatric provider here?
Absolutely. Many of our psychiatric clients have therapists at other practices. Our providers are happy to coordinate with outside therapists when you give us permission to do so.
How do I know if I need therapy, medication, or both?
That is one of the most common questions we hear — and a great reason to start with a free 10-minute consultation. Our team can help you think through your situation and identify the best starting point. There is no pressure and no commitment required.
