My Inner Calling: A Journey Toward Mental Health & Healing

Before beginning my career in healthcare, I served as a teaching assistant and tutor with the goal of becoming a teacher. While I found both teaching and working with children of all ages fulfilling, I sensed that something was lacking. During my health and nutrition classes for my education degree, it dawned on me that I not only cared about their academic growth but also their physical and mental well-being. My inner calling to care for others led me toward nursing, which filled that missing element I was looking for.

Today, as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Centered Mind Counseling Services (CMCS), I integrate my background in education and nursing to provide culturally responsive, patient-centered psychiatric care. My goal is to help adults improve emotional wellness through compassionate medication management and supportive guidance — ensuring every client feels heard, understood, and empowered.

How I Help — Adult Psychiatry, Medication Management & Supportive Psychotherapy

I work with adults facing a variety of mental-health concerns, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and mood disorders. My approach blends evidence-based medication management with brief supportive psychotherapy to promote balance, resilience, and sustainable change.

I strive to provide culturally attuned mental-health care, particularly for members of the South Asian community, recognizing the unique cultural dynamics that influence well-being. My practice emphasizes collaboration, education, and respect for each client’s story.

On a Personal Note

I enjoy traveling and have a goal to visit every continent and all 50 states. I love learning about new cultures, trying new restaurants, and spending time with loved ones. Helping others brings me great joy, which is why I dedicate part of my time to mentoring aspiring nursing students — especially immigrants and those for whom English is a second language.

The South Asian community is close to my heart.  As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I am passionate about mental-health advocacy and breaking stigma within my community.
