This workshop series offers guidance in beginning or nurturing a mindful perspective and practice in daily life.

The Power of Presence

Saturday April 23rd:  10:00 AM – 11:15 AM

Sometimes the key to staying on top of it all is to slow things down.  With all the demands for our attention—work, family, friends, hobbies, housework, electronics, etc.—it can be hard to find meaning in any of it. Learn how to increase your focus, enjoyment, and productivity by really doing what you’re doing.

Mindful Eating

Saturday May 7th:  10:00 AM – 11:15 AM

Get a “taste” of what it might be like to foster a new relationship with food and eating. Discover how feeding your body is an opportunity to nurture gratitude, self-awareness, and appreciation for the complexities of daily experiences. We’ll see how slowing down and paying attention can bring new energy into the mundane and new awareness to “mindless” action.

Unplugging: Being Mindful in a Distracted World

too many tasksSaturday June 4th:  10:00 AM – 11:15 AM

Ringing. Buzzing. Dinging. We’re trained to respond to every signal and alarm. How do we filter or prioritize all the demands on our attention? What’s the secret to staying connected in the digital world while staying present in the physical world? We’ll explore and practice keeping a mindful perspective without breaking up with our technology.

Quieting Your Inner Drill Sergeant

Saturday June 25th:  10:00 AM – 11:15 AM

Are you your own worst critic? Are self-sabotaging feelings like guilt and shame standing in your way? Self-compassion is a simple, but effective pathway to quieting the critic inside and freeing yourself from the tyranny of self-judgment. Learn what it means to be “self-compassionate” and common obstacles to adopting the practice.

Living Mindfully

The natural flow of life can often distract us from our values, priorities, and core internal strength that feed resilience.

Why is hard to let go of regrets or painful experiences?

What stands in the way of true relaxation and contentment?

Why are unhealthy habits so hard to break?

Isn’t the goal to feel happy? If not, then what is the goal?

Mindfulness practice can help you manage stress and emotional ups and downs, savor the joyful moments, and free yourself from getting stuck in the past or in repetitive cycles. Through various exercises and discussion, we will enhance our awareness of our present experience with curiosity and compassion, rather than the criticism and resistance that throw us off course or paralyze us.
