About Nancy
Pronouns: She/Her
Child, Adolescent & Adult Therapist
My Journey…
Arriving in the United States as a refugee, I was fortunate to have an extraordinary counselor who not only guided me through my own struggles but ignited a passion within me to empower others. Their unwavering support and belief in my potential taught me that even in the face of adversity, we can uncover hope and strength. Inspired, I became determined to further my education and become a counselor to help others navigate their challenges, fostering resilience and inspiring them to find their own solutions.
As I delved deeper into counseling, I discovered it was the perfect way to combine my interests and passions. Being naturally empathic, compassionate, and dedicated to helping others, my advanced education and training have allowed me to find a career I feel called to pursue—a perfect fit.
Education and Training
I earned a Master of Social Work in Mental Health and Trauma from Denver University in 2022.
I have had the privilege of working with children, teenagers, young adults, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, each facing unique challenges. I have provided both individual and family counseling, along with specialized case management services, effectively connecting clients to vital resources and coordinating their care with multiple agencies. Additionally, I have had the invaluable opportunity to serve as a Designated Crisis Responder and Crisis Counselor. In this role, I assisted clients during some of the most difficult times in their lives, offering support and guidance when they needed it most.
My Specialties & Treatment Approach
I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the complexities of anxiety, depression, grief, substance use disorders, psychosis, and trauma. With tailored approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Multicultural/Culturally Informed Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, I empower my clients to reclaim their lives and achieve lasting change.
I believe that listening to understand plays a crucial role in the treatment process and therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic space for my clients that is built on trust and understanding. I aim to create a collaborative environment in which clients feel acknowledged and appreciated, where they can develop strategies to manage stress, enhance relationships, and nurture self-awareness. The unique experiences and strengths of each client profoundly influence the therapeutic journey.
On a personal note…
Outside my practice, I enjoy cooking, singing, engaging in mental wellness activities, and traveling to explore new destinations.
